Artist Statement

My work is inspired by the Renaissance tradition of honoring the human figure with dignity and reverence. I bring that visual language into the present, placing everyday people—especially Haitian women street vendors—into a timeless space once reserved for royalty.

These women represent resilience, grace, and quiet strength. Butterflies appear in my work as symbols of transformation and hope, reflecting the enduring spirit of the Haitian people. Through light, posture, and presence, I seek to elevate the ordinary into something meaningful and lasting.

My paintings celebrate women not for perfection, but for character—strength shaped by daily life, perseverance, and dignity.

Beneath beauty lies a deeper story of survival, faith, and humanity. I invite viewers not only to see these women, but to feel their presence, recognize their story, and carry it with them.
